About

Meet Nathan Scott

Nathan Scott, pelvic health physiotherapist and founder of CoreGood

A decade of practice progressively focused on pelvic health, with men and women, in Kāpiti and Palmerston North.

In Nathan’s Words

Over the past decade I’ve progressively focused my practice on pelvic health, undertaking extensive postgraduate education throughout New Zealand and Australia, combining broad musculoskeletal expertise with advanced assessment and treatment of sexual dysfunction, bladder and bowel disorders, pelvic pain and recovery after prostate surgery.

My approach combines careful listening, objective assessment and practical rehabilitation. I enjoy explaining complex problems in a way that helps people understand what’s happening and what can realistically improve.

Helping people regain confidence, comfort and function is the reason I do this work.

For more than a decade I’ve helped men and women with some of the most personal and frustrating health challenges they experience.

Helping men and women understand what’s happening, identify what can improve and build a practical pathway forward is at the heart of how I work.

How I Work

I ask what has changed before I ask what to do about it. Rather than asking “What treatment should we use?”, the first question is “What’s limiting this person’s function?” Everything that follows is built on the answer.

I explain what I find. You should leave your first appointment understanding your own symptoms better than when you arrived, in language that makes sense, whether or not you decide to continue.

I measure rather than assume. Where it helps, we use objective assessment to see how your pelvic floor is actually functioning, instead of assuming it needs strengthening. Sometimes the finding is the opposite of what everyone expected.

I tell you what I cannot help with. If something belongs with your GP, urologist, gynaecologist or another practitioner, I will say so and write to them if you would like me to.

Experience and Approach

  • More than a decade in pelvic health.
  • Men’s and women’s pelvic health.
  • Evidence-informed rehabilitation.
  • Objective assessment technologies.
  • Ongoing professional development.

Technology supports clinical reasoning here. It does not replace it.

Nathan’s qualifications, registration and professional memberships are listed in full in the credentials table on the About page.

Who Nathan Sees

Men and women, from their twenties to their eighties, for bladder and bowel symptoms, pelvic pain, sexual health concerns, pregnancy and postnatal recovery, recovery after prostate treatment, and core and lower back problems that involve the pelvic floor.

You do not need a referral from your GP to book. If you have one, bring it, because it saves time.

Questions People Ask Before Booking

Will I have to explain myself twice?

No. Nathan is the only physiotherapist seeing patients at both clinics, so you tell your story once.

Will anyone else know I came here?

Your health information is held under the Health Information Privacy Code 2020. Your notes are not shared with your GP, your ACC case manager, your insurer or anyone else without your consent, other than where the law requires it. If you would like a letter sent to your GP or specialist, we will ask you first.

Where does Nathan practise?

At both CoreGood clinics: 2 Seaview Road, Paraparaumu Beach and 91 Milson Line, Palmerston North. Online video consultations are available where an in-person assessment is not practical.

Let’s Start With Understanding

You don’t need to know exactly what’s wrong before asking for help. The first step is understanding what’s changed and building the right pathway forward.

Or ring 0800 267 346, or book a free 15-minute discovery call if you would rather ask a few questions first.

Take the First Step

You don't need to know exactly what's wrong before asking for help. If you would rather ask before you book, start with a free 15-minute discovery call. It is a phone conversation, not a sales call, and there is no obligation to book anything afterwards.
